The hike team will be there at the elevated plain to guide you along your path to North Everest Base camp. You will be taken to the famous journey way starting from Old Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery passing the Langma La pass. The clients will be able to see the sharp gap of lush lower hills to the barren landscape of the Tibetan Plateau. After the pass, clients will be taken to the North Everest Base Camp and travel around Rongbuk glacier which is under the enormous north-face of Mount Everest.

 Later, when you are done with watching the tremendous view of the world’s top mountain and other great mountains from Rongbuk which is one of the most ancient sites of all time, you drive by path of the startling Himalayas Highway to Lhasa. Just after the drive, camp and trek in Tibet elevation flanked by 4390m and 5150m. The journey starts from Kathmandu to Lhasa through airways along with 6 days of hiking package In the North Mt. Everest Base Camp Area. The team will be guided by a Nepali Sherpa troop which comprises a camp chef who arranges food and also they will be offered all the camping gear along with different papers and magazines about the place. All the tools are carried by Yaks or trucks and the clients will walk in a normal speed as this hike is planned for a calm pace.

The duration of this cultural trek or tour arranged by Nepal Tibet Tours & Treks is 17 days long. The trekkers will be staying in a guesthouse or tents depending on what kind of interest do they have. These places are usually swarming in the months of April and it goes on like that till December.

Trip Itinerary

  • Day 01
    Welcome to Kathmandu (1400m.)

    After you arrive in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our representative at the airport and then you will be transferred to the hotel. You will be briefly described about your tour and check in to the Hotel. Rest of the day is all yours and overnight at hotel.

  • Day 02
    Kathmandu

    The second day starts with a sightseeing trip to Swayambhunath Stupa. You will see a lot of monkeys and a view of the whole Kathmandu valley. The old stupa is also entitled as Monkey Temple. Later, you will be taken to Bouddhanath Stupa which is the second largest Stupa in the world and Pashupatinath temple which is one of the most eminent Hindu temples. You will prepare for trekking in the afternoon. O/N at a hotel.

  • Day 03
    Drive to Border, Cross Border and Drive to Nyalam (3750m.)

    After you leave Kathmandu, you will start your day with a short trip through attractive Nepalese countryside. Reaching the border will be quick. As soon as you get there, you need to fill different paperwork. After all the formalities, you will head to Nyalam with a string of vertical switchbacks. You will be surrounded by gorgeous cascading waterfalls and mossy gullies.

  • Day 04
    Rest Day at Nyalam for Acclimatization

    This day will be the time to relax and enjoy in Nyalam. You will adjust everything before moving on to the next stage. You can also roam around the historic sites and small temples.

  • Day 05
    Drive to Tingri (4050m.)

    You drive and on the way, you see the sharp gap of lush lower hills to the infertile scenery of the Tibetan plateau. You will also get a chance to view the world’s top mountains and other Himalayan ranges. After the long drive, your night will be spent in the little town of Tingri.

  • Day 06
    Trek to Lung Thang (4510m.)

    It is our first day of trekking as you create your way via Tingri Plain. You will be visiting a little Gompa in Chholun. Your night will be spent in a calm campsite in Lung Thang. The drab area is home only to barley harvesters and herders.

  • Day 07
    Trek to Lamna La (5150 m.)

    Today, the hard hiking starts as you head to the mountains. You will be climbing towards the top of Lamna La and we walk up the hill right after that. We will be making camps near the tops.

  • Day 08
    Trek to Zommug (4790 m.)

    You go down sharply into lush vegetation in the morning today. Other people you will find are yak herders and their families. You will be making the camp in the little village of Zommug. Perfect sunsets could be seen in this barren land.

  • Day 09
    Trek to Rongbuk (5000m.)

    It is your final day of hiking and you will head to the ending destination of Rongbuk Everest Base Camp. On the way, you can see the Dza Rongbuk monastery and Gompas which is one of the most famous ancient sites of all time. Tonight you will be camping at Everest Base Camp which will just be perfect.

  • Day 10
    Exploration at Rongbuk Glacier

    You will be spending your time enjoying the inspiring environment of the Everest Base Camp. It feels different when staring at the world’s highest mountain.

  • Day 11
    Drive to Shegar (4050m.)

    After you leave the perfect sight of Everest behind, you will be driving a small distance to Shegar. On the way, you pass the Pang La Pass, with different sights of Himalayas. Your night will be spent in the Luxury Hotel called Qomolangma.

  • Day 12
    Drive to Xigatse (3900m.)

    Today, you will be spending our day down the Friendship Highway after you pass the top bypass of your journey, Gyamtso La, and move through Lhatse. You will be continuing with a small drive to Shigatse which is the second biggest city in Tibet.

  • Day 13
    Sightseeing & Drive to Gyantse (3950m.)

    In the morning, you will be visiting the Local monasteries and markets. Both ancient and modern sights are there around the town. After that, you will be heading to Gyantse in a short drive. There, you will experience amazing Tibetan cultures as you see the Khumbum and Gyantse Dzong. The khumbu is more than a stupa because several ancient murals and little chapel house surround it.

  • Day 14
    Drive to Lhasa (3680m.)

    Today, you drive towards Lhasa. Different passes, like Kharo La and Khambo La provides you amazing views of the different Himalayan range. A massive glacier rises nearly above from the road as we cross Kharo La. The drive is not scary as you cross through different stunning Tibetan valleys and quiet Villages. After all the stopovers, you will be heading to your final destination, a first rate hotel in Lhasa.

  • Day 15
    Sightseeing in Lhasa

    Today, you start your day exploring beautifully conserved Sera Monastery. After the visit, you will be walking around the Jokhang Temple and Norbulinka. Norbulinka was once the summer palace of Dalai Lama. The Barkor, which is the central market of Lhasa, surrounds the Jokhang Temple. These places reflect more Tibetan culture than any other city in Tibet.

  • Day 16
    Sightseeing in Lhasa

    In the morning, you will be visiting the Potala palace, the ancient quarters of Dalai Lama. This palace has been there since earlier than 17th century. For more knowledge of culture and history, you will also be visiting Drepung Monastery which is the home for more than 10,000 Monks.

  • Day 17
    Departure

    17th day is the end of the trip as you depart to the airport or the train station.
