Yamdrok Lake located to the south of Lhasa at the elevation of 4488m is one of the four largest sacred lakes in Tibet. The Yamdrok Lake has 11 arms and is encircled by villages, where you will see people farming and some cattles, including yaks. Also, you will visit Panchen Lama’s home-Tashilhunpo Monastery and go around the tombs of Panchen Lamas. Panchen in Tibetan means great scholar. Trip Itinerary

  • Day 01
    Arrival Lhasa (3,680m)

    Upon your arrival at Lhasa, our Tibetan guide will welcome you either in airport or train station depending on you. After around an hour drive you will arrive to the Lhasa city and check into the Tibetan style hotel. You will have a free afternoon for resting and relaxing. Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 02
    Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa

    Today you will go for sightseeing around Lhasa and take a trouble-free visit to Jokhang Temple. The temple is regarded as the most holy spot in Tibet and devotees go to visit the temple from different areas of the Tibet. Also, you will go around the Barkhor Bazaar, the swarming mid market of Lhasa. As you drive little miles north of Lhasa, in the afternoon, you will arrive at Sera Monastery, located 5 km north of central Lhasa city, with whitewashed walls and golden roofs. It is home to numerous monks with frequent debating activities. After visiting Sera Monastery, you can extend your tour to Pabonka Monastery, which is about an hour’s walk from Sera.

  • Day 03
    Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa

    Today also, you will visit Lhasa and the Potala Palace, the most significant site in Lhasa, a fortress and former residence of the Dalai Lama. This day concludes with Drepung Monastery, about 8 km west from central Lhasa, once the world’s largest monastery with 10,000 monks. From the hilltop, enjoy panoramic views of Lhasa city and distant mountains. Descend to visit Nechung Monastery.

  • Day 04
    Lhasa - Damxung County (4,200m.) - Lake Nam-Tso (4,718m.) - Damxung

    See huge mountains, grasslands, local nomads, sheep, goats, yaks, horses, and the pristine Nam-Tso Lake at 4,718m, the second-largest lake in China. In clear weather, the turquoise waters and mountain views are stunning. Optional meditation at Tashi Dor Island. Afternoon drive to Damxung Jinzhu Hotel, Damxung Nyenchen Tanglha Hotel, or similar.

  • Day 05
    Damxung - Shigatse (3,900m.)

    Explore natural sites of Tibet, including vast Changtang plains, Tibetan landscapes, nomads, snow-capped mountains, Brahmaputra River. Reach Shigatse for lunch, then visit Tashilhunpo Monastery.

  • Day 06
    Shigatse - Gyantse (3950m.) – Lhasa

    Morning visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery, including Panchen Lama’s tombs. Drive 90 km to Gyantse to see Gyantse Dzong and Pelkor Choede Monastery. Continue along southern route to Lake Yamdrok, then drive back to Lhasa.

  • Day 07
    Fly to Kathmandu or Extend Your Tour to China

    Today, the guide takes you to the train station or airport. This is the last day of the Lhasa-Nam-Tso-Yamdrok tour, leaving you with unforgettable memories.
