We are going all the way through Lhasa city to Mt. Kailash (6740m.) and Manasarovar (4590m.). It is going to be the apex time for adaptation and some days will be used up for visiting the place of interest around Lhasa (3680m.). After the visit, the time will be fine to roam in the region of Mount Kailash along with your local Tibetan tour guide and driver. We are going to spend the first four days of our travel in the cold city of Lhasa which will let you the perfect sightseeing and fine adjustments. We will see the tremendous Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple while in Lhasa. When everything is done, we will be ready to leave in our Toyota Land Cruisers to Mt. Kailash. .

Day 01Arrival Lhasa (3,680m)
Upon your arrival at Lhasa, our Tibetan guide will welcome you either in airport or train station depending on you. After around an hour drive you will arrive to the Lhasa city and check into the Tibetan style hotel. You will have a free afternoon for resting and relaxing. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
Today you will go for sightseeing around Lhasa and take a trouble-free visit to Jokhang Temple. The temple is regarded as the most holy spot in Tibet and devotees go to visit the temple from different areas of the Tibet. Also, you will go around the Barkhor Bazaar, the swarming mid market of Lhasa. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Sera Monastery belonging to fifteenth century which has whitewashed walls and golden roofs. It is home to numerous monks, and prominent debating activities go on frequently every day.

Day 03Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
Today too, you will go around Lhasa and visit the Potala Palace, Lhasa’s fundamental milestone with wonderful eastern architecture. Since the 5th or 6th century it has been a fort and formerly residence of the Dalai Lama. This day will conclude with a visit to Drepung Monastery, once the world’s biggest monastery accommodating 10,000 monks. It lies veiled in rocky ridges just beyond the city.

Day 04Lhasa – Lhatse (4350m)
You are leaving for Lake Mansarovar and Mt. Kailash today. Early morning, drive 430 km to Lhatse via Xigatse (3900m.). Visit Tashilunpo Monastery with the highest (33 m) gold gilded statue of Future-Buddha Maitreya. Overnight in a local guesthouse.

Day 05Lhatse – Saga (4640m)
The expedition heads to Saga through Lhatse next to Brahmaputra River, with a small stop at Lhatse. Overnight in a local guesthouse or tents.

Day 06Shigatse - Gyantse (3950m) – Lhasa
Drive 260 Km to Paryang village, enjoying typical plateau landscapes and snow-covered mountain peaks. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 07Paryang – Mansarovar (4590m)
Focus on Mansarovar Lake, approximately 200 Km from Paryang. Pilgrims bathe and collect water as a souvenir. Ride to Tarchen, at the base of Mt. Kailash. Overnight stay.

Day 08Mansarovar - Chiu Gompa (4570m)
Morning drive around Lake Mansarovar (30 Km), visit Quiga Gompa, then take a holy bath at Chiu Gompa. Overnight in a nearby guesthouse.

Day 09Chiu Gompa- Tarchen (4500m)
Drive 70 km off-road to Tirthapuri with hot springs, then proceed to Tarchen, base camp of Mt. Kailash. Overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 10Tarchen – Dira Puk (4900m)
First day of trek, about 22 km to Dira Puk. Breakfast on the way, trek from Kora of Mt. Kailash to Dira Puk, light lunch on route. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 11Dira Puk – Zuthul Puk (4805m)
Second day of Kailash trek, around 20 km to Zuthul Puk. Yak men help carry bags. Overnight in guesthouse.

Day 12Zuthul Puk - Tarchen (4560m)
Last day of Mt. Kailash trek, 6 km to the Land Cruiser pickup point. Drive 10 km to Tarchen, halt for lunch on the way, then continue to Hor. Overnight in local guesthouse.

Day 13Tarchen - Paryang (4750m)
Morning drive through scenic surroundings to Paryang at 4750m. Overnight at Paryang.

Day 14Paryang- Saga (4640m)
Morning drive to Saga enjoying scenic views, around 7-8 hours, distance about 230 km. Overnight at Saga.

Day 15Saga to Nylam (12303 ft)
Drive 6-7 hours through main regional road to Nylam at 12303 ft. Overnight stay.

Day 16Nyalam - Kathmandu (1,400m)
End of Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar journey. Cross Friendship Bridge, clear Nepal customs with representative assistance. Drive back to Kathmandu, overnight at hotel.

Day 17Departure
Transfer to airport for next destination or discuss further tours in Nepal.
