10 days adventure into the sacred places of the Annapurna Mountains

High up in the Annapurna Mountains of the Himalayas is a holy place called Muktinath. This place has been a sacred pilgrimage spot for both Buddhists and Hindus. Fueled by an underground gas fissure, it has been burning for centuries. Muktinath Temple features 108 golden taps that continuously spouts holy water as it has done for centuries. Frozen water constantly flows from the bullhead and Kunda (ponds). Taking bath in the 108 waterspouts and Kunda is believed to bring you salvation.

The region of Jomsom and Muktinath is famous for its incredible beauty. It lies between the mighty peaks of the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri, the 10th and 7th highest mountains in the world, respectively.

For 15 incredible days, you travel from the subtropical forests; north of the picturesque mountain city of Pokhara to the stunning heights near Muktinath at 3,817m; right in the heart of the snow capped peaks. On the trek, there are hot springs, the world’s deepest gorge on the Kaligandaki River and then for the awesome opportunity to witness sunrise over the Annapurna from Poon Hill.

There are 10 actual days of trekking in this trip, which begins with a short flight to Jomsom near Muktinath. The trek begins in the Tibetan plateau area of Mustang before working its way south to the sub-tropical forests near Pokhara. After taking the short climb to Muktinath, the trip is primarily downhill until you reach the village of Tikhedhunga before returning to Pokhara. The journey ends by bus ride through the Trisuli River Valley as you make your way back to the city of Kathmandu.

The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is one of the most popular of the Annapurna Treks and attracts approximately 75% of visitors to the Annapurna region. The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is exceptional, featuring opportunities to see Nepal at its finest. The trip will include a day of sightseeing in Kathmandu where you will experience several famous UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a bewitching trek that will make your Nepal holiday a memorable one. Your representative at Nepal Tibet Tours and Treks will help you make this trip a dream-like reality for you.
