Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
You arrive in Kathmandu, where a representative meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel. After a short briefing about the tour and check-in, the evening includes a traditional Nepali welcome dinner with cultural performances. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02Kathmandu Sightseeing – Swayambhunath, Durbar Square, Patan
After breakfast, you visit key cultural sites:
- Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), a sacred Buddhist site known for its hilltop views and monkeys
- Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO-listed royal palace complex with historic temples and architecture
- Patan (Lalitpur), famous for its art, temples, and the Patan Durbar Square area

Day 03Kathmandu Sightseeing – Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Bhaktapur

Day 04Kathmandu- Kyirung
On the first day of the 10-day Kailash Mansarovar Overland Tour, you depart Kathmandu early and drive through scenic hills, rice fields, and forests, with a stop for snacks and breaks while guides handle permits.
After reaching the border around midday, you complete immigration and customs formalities and enter Tibet, noticing Tibetan-style homes and prayer flags as you continue to Kyirung.In the evening, you settle into a guesthouse, explore a local market, and attend a briefing on health and altitude. The day ends with a traditional dinner, early rest, and acclimatization under a clear, starry mountain sky.

Day 05Kyirung
On Day 2 in Kyirung (altitude 2700m), the focus is acclimatization with a slow, relaxed schedule. You start with a short hike for valley views and an introduction to local Tibetan culture and the town.
Later, you explore the market, visit a teahouse, and experience traditional foods and crafts while learning about life on the high plateau. In the afternoon, you visit a shrine or mani wall to interact with locals and observe prayer rituals.The day ends with rest, hydration, a light walk, and a group safety briefing before dinner.

Day 06Drive Kyirung to Saga/4450m- 232 km O/n in Hotel
On Day 3, you leave Kyirung after breakfast and drive 232 km to Saga, gaining significant altitude up to 4450m. The journey crosses the high Tibetan plateau, with views of nomadic camps, yaks, wide salt flats, monasteries, and rugged mountains.
Along the way, you pass prayer stones and wheels, highlighting the region’s spiritual culture. By afternoon, you reach Saga, a more distinctly Tibetan town, and settle into a guesthouse.
In the evening, you explore the local market, attend a briefing for the next stage of the journey, and end the day with a warm meal and rest to help your body acclimatize to higher altitude.

Day 07Saga to Paryang (4558m) to Mansarovar (4600m) 507 km 8-9 hrs O/N at Guesthouse
On this full-day drive across the Tibetan plateau, you travel through high passes with dramatic mountain scenery and reach Paryang by mid-morning, where you observe local village life and farming traditions.
By early afternoon, you arrive at Lake Mansarovar, seeing its striking blue waters framed by mountains and the distant presence of Mount Kailash. After checking into a guesthouse, you visit the lakeside where pilgrims perform rituals, prayers, and offerings at nearby Hindu and Buddhist sites.
The day ends with a sunset over the lake, followed by a briefing on proper conduct for the sacred area and preparations for the next stage of the journey.

Day 08Drive to Darchen (14975ft) 40km O/N in a Guest House.
The day begins with an early morning visit to Lake Mansarovar, where pilgrims pray and perform rituals in a peaceful spiritual atmosphere.
After breakfast, you travel to Darchen, the base town for the Mount Kailash Kora, passing nomadic landscapes along the way. Once there, you check into a guesthouse and prepare for the trek, including gear checks and a detailed briefing from your guide.
In the afternoon, you take a light walk around town, visit a monastery, and view Mount Kailash from nearby. The day ends with dinner, another briefing, and early rest in preparation for the upcoming trek.

Day 09Trek to Dira-Puk/5000m The 15 km trail takes almost 7 hrs. O/N Guest house.
The day begins with an early breakfast and equipment check before starting a slow, guided trek toward Dira Puk. The route passes through high ridges, rocky terrain, and sacred sites, with pilgrims walking, praying, and performing prostrations along the way.
As you ascend, the landscape opens into wide Himalayan views, including glaciers and Mount Kailash in clear weather. The pace is steady with frequent rest stops to manage altitude.
By afternoon, you reach Dira Puk, where you rest, eat, and stay near the sacred cliffs. The evening is quiet and communal, followed by an early night to prepare for the more challenging sections of the Kora ahead.

Day 10Trek Dira Puk-Zuthul Puk, 18km, 6-7 hrs, 550m ascent, 600m descent. O/N at local Guest house
This is the most difficult and sacred day of the Kora, involving a steep ascent over rocky trails with prayer flags, shrines, and pilgrims performing rituals along the route.
By mid-morning, you cross the highest pass, where you rest, take in panoramic views of Mount Kailash, and eat while recovering from the altitude.In the afternoon, you descend through rugged terrain and meadows toward Zuthul Puk, passing caves, cairns, and resting pilgrims along the way. Upon arrival, you explore the sacred cave area and learn its spiritual significance before settling into a nearby campsite for the night.

Day 11End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Saga Complete the kora and drive to Lake Manasarovar to Saga O/N at Hotel
The final day of the Kora begins early with the last ceremonial walk, where pilgrims complete chants, prayers, and offerings to close the sacred circuit at Mount Kailash.
After finishing, you return to Darchen, collect your luggage, and begin the long drive back across the Tibetan plateau toward Saga, passing small settlements and prayer walls along the way.By late afternoon, you arrive in Saga and check into a lodge for rest and recovery. The evening includes time to relax, followed by a debrief where the guide explains the cultural and spiritual significance of the journey and answers questions.

Day 12Saga-Kerung : After Breakfast, drive to Kerung O/N at Hotel
You start the day with breakfast and a long scenic drive back across the Tibetan plateau, passing familiar landscapes of grazing lands, monasteries, and wide open skies viewed with a sense of reflection.
Along the way, you take in and photograph the scenery before descending through lower passes where the air becomes noticeably thicker. As you approach Kyirung, the cultural landscape gradually blends Tibetan and Nepali influences.
By late afternoon, you arrive in Kyirung, where you can revisit earlier spots and shop locally. The day ends with a final dinner, a cultural discussion, and rest in preparation for the journey back to Kathmandu.

Day 13Kerung- Kathmandu
On the final day of the 10-day Kailash Mansarovar Overland Yatra, you depart Kyirung after breakfast and drive back toward Kathmandu, passing through lively villages and trading towns along the Nepal–Tibet route. As you descend, the landscape shifts from high plateau to green foothills, and the air becomes warmer and denser. You pass bustling markets, stupas, shrines, and everyday road activity reflecting the cultural blend of the region. About almost 7-8hrs drive to Kathmandu. Overnight Hotel in Kathmandu.
