Journey starts after we make a drive to Bhumthang through Trongsa which is probably about 7 hours drive passing through Pele La Pass (3300m.) and Yotong La Pass (3400m.). If the weather is calm, you can see different Himalayan ranges from the Pele la Pass. The visit to Jambay Lhakhang which is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan and Jakar Dzong which is the seat of the district administration is also included in this package of Central Bhutan Culture Tour. Not only this, you will explore different other places like National Memorial Chorten and Bhutanese farm house of a local family at Drukgyal which makes you dig underneath the Bhutanese life style and know about them.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01Arrive Paro (2250m.) - Thimpu (2320m.)
In the Plane, if the weather is cool, you will be seeing the spectacular views of the world’s highest peaks. Soon as you step off the plane, you will be escorted by your guide to Paro town for lunch. After the Lunch, you will be visiting Ta Dzong, an antique watchtower which is now a museum entitled as The National Museum. Later, you will be going to Rinpung Dzong which was built in 17th century for protections. Later that day, you will be off to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan where you will be staying a night in a Hotel.

Day 02Thimpu (Sightseeing)
Thimpu has a population of around 66,000 which is just made up of three lines of shops and is the only capital in the world with no Traffic Lights. In the evening, you will be visiting the Handicrafts Emporium. It is the only place in Thimpu where all types of Bhutanese handicrafts are sold and even made. O/N in a Hotel.

Day 03Thimpu – Gangtey (2900m.)
After an early breakfast, you will be driving to Gangtey with a halt at Dochula Pass (10,000 ft). You continue your drive yet again after that, where you will go through forests of magnolia and Rhododendrons for lunch to Punakha (1250m.). After the lunch, you will be going to Punakha Dzong and you continue your drive to Gangtey again. The chance of staying in a Lodge is more tonight.

Day 04Gangtey-Bhumthang (2600m.)
You will be driving around the stunning gorge of Gangtey to Bumthang with a halt at Trongsa (2300m.) for lunch. Along this trip, you can have good views of top Himalayan ranges from Pele la Pass (3300m.). You drive through thick forests and Rhododendron trees to get there. After the long hard day, you will be staying in a lodge at Bumthang stay a night there.

Day 05Bumthang (Sightseeing)
This is our last day of your tour. Early in the morning, you will be transferred to Paro Airport for our departure flight.

Day 06Bhumthang – Thimpu
Today, you will be driving to Thimpu which approximately takes around 7-9 hours to reach with specific halts along the way. You also make some stops for photographs and similar. On the way, you stop at Chendebji Chorten to have a Picnic lunch. You will then continue your drive again for Thimpu after that stop. O/N in a Hotel.

Day 07Thimpu – Paro (2250m.)
In the morning after an early breakfast, you will be driving to Paro for Paro Valley sightseeing. You will also visit Drugye Dzong which is a ruined fortress that defended the gorge from Tibetan attack and from where the view of Mount Chomolhari (24000ft) is really stunning. After that, you continue your drive and on the way, you will be visiting Satsam Chorten and get a perfect sight of Taktsang Monastery. Later that day, in the afternoon, you will drive to Rinpung Dzong and the famous National Museum. Overnight in a Hotel.

Day 08Departure
This is the final day of your great Central Bhutan Culture Tour. You will be driving straight to the airstrip this day for our Final Departure.
